Blogging Guide

 Safety     

 

• Use your first name only. 

• Don't give out personal information such as: your email address, your home address, your phone number.  

• Be aware of what you write in your posts as the internet is public domain. If you aren't sure, check with me first before posting.

Posting      

• All our posts are in English. Be mindful of: content, language (grammar & vocabulary), spelling, punctuation, style. Always proofread your posts before posting. 
• Use "proper" English - not text English.
• Give your post a title. The better the title, the more it'll grab your readers' attention. Then add your content.
• Use short paragraphs. The more paragraphs the better. Try and make the first paragraph really interesting to make your readers wnat to read on.
• Use headings, and where appropriate bullet points / numbers.
• Create a marker: e.g.: *************** to separate sections of text.
•  Enhance your posts with images and media.
• Add a hyperlink. For example, see the following website for more information on internet safety. http://internet-safety.sch.gr/
• Before you publish your post it's a good idea to use the Preview option to see what it looks like to readers.

Commenting (for class bloggers and visitors)

•  Like with posting, we should think carefully about how we comment. Correct language use applies here too. 
• The format used for letter writing works well: Greeting / Body / Closing / Sign Off.  

Example

Dear Miss Melissa,

I loved reading about your holiday in the UK, especially  the bit about going on the London Eye. I went on a holiday last year to ... . Are you planning on going away again soon?

• A one-point comment is a general comment and doesn't add much to the post. For example: I like your post. 
•  A two-point comment, however, adds something to the post and can contribute to creating conversation. You might want to praise or compliment the writer in some way and / or add new information. Example: Your story about being late for an important interview was very interesting. A similar thing happened to me one day when...
• Try to end your comment with a relevant question. E.g.: That was a great story. I especially liked the bit about... . How did you feel when...?

Οδηγίες για τα σχόλια για επισκέπτες (στα ελληνικά)

• Τα blog είναι διαδικτυακοί χώροι όπου ο διαχειρηστής / διαχειρηστές ενός blog ανεβάζουν αναρτήσεις διαφόρων θεμάτων για να διαβαστούν και να σχολιαστούν από τους επισκέπτες του blog. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, οι αναρτήσεις δίνουν την αφορμή για την ανάπτυξη διαδικτυακής συζήτησης.
• Παραπάνω δίνονται οδηγίες για τη δομή που πρέπει να έχουν τα σχόλια. Και θέλουμε να σχολιάζετε για να δημιουργούμε συζητήσεις
• Στο συγκεκριμένο blog, οι αναρτήσεις από εμένα (την καθηγήτρια) και τους μαθητές θα είναι στα Αγγλικά καθώς επίσης και τα σχόλια μας. 
•  Στους επισκέπτες, αν δεν θέλετε να σχολιάσετε στα Αγγλικά αλλά θέλετε να συμμετέχετε σε κάποια συζήτηση, μπορέιτε φυσικά να σχολιάσετε στα Ελληνικά.   
• Ως καθηγήτρια των μαθητών, σε κάποια σχόλια μπορεί να εστιάσω σε γλωσσικά λάθη. Ως επισκέπτες όμως, να εστιάσετε στο περιεχόμενο.
