About Us

Meet the students

We are the students in Miss Melissa's English class, and we are in our first year of secondary school at the "Rodian Pedia" school in Rhodes, Greece. There are seventeen students in our class: fourteen girls and three boys. We love English and we want our visitors to see and enjoy our English writing!

Miss Melissa's students have lots of different hobbies. We love playing tennis. We love horse riding. We love dancing. We love windsurfing. We love music. One of our favourite bands is Nickleback. Two of us love One Direction. We also love dunkball, street hockey and floorball.

Meet the teacher

This is my 13th year of teaching English (as a foreign language) and I thoroughly enjoy it. At present I teach at the Rodion Pedia Primary and Secondary school in Rhodes, Greece, teaching Primary years 3 to 6 and Secondary year 1. Working with Greek learners and helping them learn and love the English language gives me great joy.

I'm a lifelong learner and am currently completing a Master's degree in Education with technology. I'm always seeking ways to improve my teaching skills and create a positive and effective learning experience for my students.

When I'm not teaching I enjoy travelling, reading books and the Greek summer! My favourite author is George Elliot (with whom, by the way, we share the same city of origin - Coventry UK). My favourite film is "Hatchiko" and one of my favourite music bands is U2. My favourite Greek food is "dolmades". My favourite "other" food is Indian curry and Italian pizza. Nothing British there I'm afraid...!
